I used to always burn rice!
I had to develop a fail proof method.
- 1 cup rice (Basmati, Jasmine)
- 3 cups water or more
- 1 tsp salt
Boil water in a Kettle – while you heat your stove top (saves a lot of time).
Put hot water into pot with salt and rice.
Boil for approx 13min (till rice is soft but not mushy).
Drain in a colander and put back into the same pot, cover with a lid.
Wrap the pot in a heavy towel, place in a rice cooker or as my granny used to do – put under your duvet. Leave the rice there until your dinner is ready to be served. Rice will be fluffy, warm and never burned.
